Free games to play in Telegram: solo, with friends and in groups

Matsuri is a free hall of small games that runs inside Telegram as a Mini App. Open @MatsuriGamesBot, tap Play and pick a puzzle, card, action, idle or board game: nothing to install, on your phone or on Telegram Desktop. Play alone on the daily board, challenge a friend to the same board, sit down together for Ludo or Backgammon, or add the bot to a group for a shared leaderboard. No ads, ten languages.

How the Mini App works

A Telegram Mini App is a web page that opens inside Telegram itself. Start a chat with @MatsuriGamesBot (t.me/MatsuriGamesBot), tap Play, and the hall opens over the conversation. Telegram signs you in, so there is no account to create and no password to remember, and your scores, candy and outfits belong to your Telegram account and follow you to every device you use it on.

The same hall runs at matsuri.games in any browser. There you start as a guest straight away and can link Telegram or Google later to keep everything in one place.

Playing in a group chat

Add @MatsuriGamesBot to a group and send /play. Open a game from the button the bot posts, and your scores land on that group's own leaderboard, one for every game. /top shows today's ranking in the group, and /daily opens the next daily board you have not played yet. When someone in the group passes your score, the bot tells you, which is usually how a rematch starts.

Each morning Mocha posts a short recap of the day before: who took first in each game and who played the most. A group that would rather skip it can turn it off: an admin sends /recap off, and /recap on brings it back.

Challenges and table games

Every solo run can be shared. A friend who opens it gets exactly the same board, with your score as the target, so the comparison is fair. For playing together there are five tables: Ludo for two to four players, Four in a Row, Backgammon, Reversi and 8-Ball. Open a table and send the invite link; your friend sits down from Telegram or a browser. If nobody is free, Mocha plays you herself.

Candy and Mocha

Mocha, a cheerful café girl, runs the hall and cheers you on while you play. Games, finished matches and the daily check-in earn candy, the hall's coin, which buys outfits for Mocha, skins for the games and, in Candy Survivors and Candy Defense, gear for practice runs. Candy packs can also be bought with Telegram Stars. Daily boards and friend challenges are always played without gear, so they stay equal for everyone.

Ten languages

The hall speaks English, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Indonesian, Korean, Turkish and Vietnamese. It follows your Telegram language, and you can pick another one at any time.

Questions

Do I need to install anything to play games in Telegram?
No. Matsuri is a Telegram Mini App, so it opens inside Telegram on phones and on Telegram Desktop. The same games also run in any web browser at matsuri.games.
Are the games free?
Yes. Every game is free to play and there are no ads. Candy is earned by playing; optional candy packs bought with Telegram Stars add more of it. Candy buys Mocha's outfits, game skins and a little practice gear in two action games; daily boards are the same for everyone.
How do I play with my group chat?
Add @MatsuriGamesBot to the group, send /play and open games from the button. Each game keeps a leaderboard for that group, /top shows today's standings, and admins can turn off the morning recap with /recap off.
Can I play against a friend?
Yes, at the five table games: Ludo, Four in a Row, Backgammon, Reversi and 8-Ball. Send the invite link from a table; your friend can join from Telegram or a browser.
