About Matsuri

Matsuri (matsuri.games) is a small, independent hall of free casual games: puzzles, solitaire and tile games, quick action games, idle games and two-player board games. It runs in any web browser and inside Telegram as a Mini App through @MatsuriGamesBot. There is nothing to download, no sign-up to play and no ads. The host is Mocha, a cheerful café girl.

A festival of game stalls

Matsuri is the Japanese word for a festival, and the hall is meant to feel like one: a row of small stalls, each a game you can understand in seconds. In Chinese it is called 游戏祭, in Japanese まつり and in Russian Мацури. Mocha runs the stalls. She cheers you on during a game, has something to say after a near miss, and can be dressed up with the candy you earn.

How the daily works

Most solo games have one daily board, the same for everyone, that changes at 00:00 UTC. Only your first try counts on the daily leaderboard. Practice mode gives unlimited fresh boards, and after any run you can send a friend the very same board to beat.

Fair play

Your device sends only your moves. The server replays them to work out the score, so a score cannot be typed in. Records that look too fast, too even or beyond what strong players reach wait for a person to review them before they appear at the top of a board. In two-player games the server checks every move against the rules and rolls the dice.

Free, with optional candy

Every game is free to play. Candy, the hall's coin, is earned by playing and spent on Mocha's outfits, game skins and, in Candy Survivors and Candy Defense, gear upgrades for practice runs. Candy packs can be bought with Telegram Stars by anyone who wants more. Daily boards and friend challenges are always played without gear, so what counts on them is skill.

Privacy

The hall keeps what it needs to run the games, such as your runs, candy and items, and does not sell data. In a browser you start as a guest, and linking Telegram or Google is optional. The privacy policy and the terms of service give the details.
