Candy Survivors
Just keep moving, your weapons fire on their own
How to play
Candy Survivors is a free online survivor game, a bullet heaven: you steer Mocha through swarms of candy-hungry monsters while her weapons fire by themselves. It runs in any browser on phone or desktop and in Telegram via @MatsuriGamesBot, with no download. A run lasts about five minutes, everyone shares one daily run, and you can send a friend your exact run to beat.
Candy Survivors is a cute survivor-like, a bullet heaven you play with one finger. Mocha guards her bakery while gummy bears, ant swarms, splitting jelly slimes and armoured cookie golems close in from every side. You only move: drag anywhere on the screen (or use WASD or the arrow keys) and every weapon fires by itself. Popped monsters drop candy; collect it to level up and pick one of three upgrades: a cream shot that aims for you, spinning whisks, a sugar storm, a macaron shield, sprinkle rain, a lollipop boomerang, faster feet, a bigger candy magnet, more health or quicker weapons, each up to level 5. A weapon at level 5 with its partner power evolves: the cream gatling, a whirlwind of whisks, a macaron fortress. Every run is one of six kitchens with a twist of its own (an ant march across the mint kitchen, jam falling in the jam workshop, jelly slimes that split in three), gold-glowing elites drop treasure chests that level a weapon or evolve it, and twice a run you can redraw the cards. At 2:30 comes the Gummy King or the leaping Jelly Queen, and at 5:00 the candy-thief raccoon or the Cotton-Candy Witch with her rings of sugar orbs: beat the boss within 45 seconds to save the bakery. Score is time survived, monsters popped and the bosses beaten. The daily run is the same for everyone, so the leaderboard is fair.
- Move me with WASD or the arrow keys (or drag anywhere); every weapon fires by itself.
- Popped monsters drop candy: grab it to level up and pick one of three upgrades (keys 1–3). R redraws the cards, twice a run. P or Esc pauses.
- Survive five minutes and beat the final boss, the candy-thief raccoon or the Cotton-Candy Witch, to save my bakery. At 2:30 the Gummy King or the Jelly Queen drops by. Raccoon crouching? Step aside. Pink ring on the floor? Step out of it. Ring of sugar orbs with a gap? Slip through. Every run I bake in one of six kitchens!
How to play Candy Survivors
You only move: drag anywhere on the screen, or use WASD or the arrow keys. Mocha starts with the Cream Shot, and every weapon she gains fires on its own. Popped monsters drop candy; fill the bar to level up, and the clock stops while you pick one of three cards: a new weapon (Spinning Whisk, Sugar Storm, Macaron Shield, Sprinkle Rain, Lollipop Boomerang), a level for one you own, or a power (Roller Skates, Candy Magnet, Big Heart, Sugar Rush). Everything goes up to level 5, and a level-5 weapon whose partner power is at level 3 can evolve once.
Mocha has 100 health. A monster's touch costs health, she mends slowly between hits, and dropped hearts heal 30. Monsters toughen as the minutes pass. Every run is set in one of six kitchens, each with a twist: Strawberry Café (rings of monsters close in), Mint Kitchen (columns of ants march across), Lemon Garden (more popping candy), Jam Workshop (jam falls: step out of the red rings), Jelly Pool (slimes split in three) and Chocolate Cellar (cookie golems early, extra elites). At 2:30 comes the Gummy King or the Jelly Queen, and at 5:00 the candy-thief raccoon or the Cotton-Candy Witch. The crowd stays, and nothing beaten while the boss is about leaves any candy or hearts, and you have 45 seconds to beat the final boss. The run ends when Mocha's health runs out, when the final boss falls, or at 5:45.
Score: 10 points a second survived, 2 a monster, 300 for the first boss, and 2,000 for the final boss plus 20 for every second left.
Candy Survivors strategy and tips
- Decide on an evolution early. The pairs are Cream Shot with Candy Magnet, Spinning Whisk with Sugar Rush, Sugar Storm with Big Heart, Macaron Shield with Roller Skates, Sprinkle Rain with Sugar Rush, and Lollipop Boomerang with Candy Magnet.
- A few times a run, a ring of monsters closes in from every side, always with one gap about a sixth of the circle wide. Find it at once and walk out before the ring tightens.
- Popping candy, from 1:30, creeps, crouches, then hops straight at the spot where you were. Step sideways as it crouches instead of running straight away.
- Stay within range of a boss: while one is near, the Cream Shot always sends its first shot at it (every shot, for the raccoon), and those shots fly through the small monsters in the way.
- When the raccoon crouches, it is about to dash along that line, so step aside. The Cotton-Candy Witch throws rings of sugar orbs with a gap in them: slip through it. At 2:30 the Jelly Queen squats and a pink ring shows where she will land: step out of it. Each second the final boss lives costs you 20 points, so an aggressive finish pays.
- Gold-glowing elite monsters show up a few times a run. Beat one and it drops a treasure chest that evolves a weapon if one is ready, otherwise levels one up. Twice a run you can redraw the three level-up cards with New cards (R on a keyboard).
Modes and difficulty
The daily run is the same for everyone: the same monsters from the same places, the same cards at each level-up. It changes at 00:00 UTC and only your first try counts on the daily leaderboard. Practice gives a fresh run whenever you like, the place to learn the bosses and test builds. After any run you can challenge a friend, who gets the identical run with your score as the target.
Playing Candy Survivors on Matsuri
Candy Survivors takes its turn hosting the Matsuri Cup, the weekly tournament where your best practice score of the week counts and the top ten win candy and a cup badge. The server replays every run from your moves, so a score on the board was really played. Add @MatsuriGamesBot to a Telegram group and the game gets that group's own ranking. Mocha is the hero here, in whatever outfit you dressed her in.
A little history
The genre takes its name from Vampire Survivors, an indie game by poncle that became a surprise hit in 2022. Players call the style bullet heaven, the reverse of bullet hell: instead of dodging a screen full of enemy fire, you fill the screen with your own automatic attacks, and the skill lies in movement and in upgrades that combine.

Update log
- · Six kitchens, each with a twist of its own, and rotating bosses: the Jelly Queen and the Cotton-Candy Witch join.
- · Gear comes only from gear points earned by playing this game; candy buys looks, never strength.
- · The final boss walks into the crowd instead of an empty screen, so the end of a run is its peak.
- · Your first practice run is in the gentle Strawberry Café.
- · Pick any level you have already reached on the level ladder, not just the next one.
Questions
- Is Candy Survivors free, and does it work on a phone?
- Yes. It is free with no ads, no download and no sign-up, in any browser on phone or desktop and inside Telegram through @MatsuriGamesBot. On a phone you press anywhere and drag to move; on a computer you use WASD or the arrow keys.
- How do I attack in Candy Survivors?
- You never press an attack button. Every weapon fires by itself: the cream shot aims at the nearest monster, whisks and macarons circle around Mocha, and the sugar storm bursts all around her now and then. Your job is to move, collect candy and choose upgrades.
- How long is a run and how do I win?
- A run lasts at most five minutes and 45 seconds. Each run is set in one of six kitchens. At 2:30 the Gummy King or the Jelly Queen arrives, and at 5:00 the candy-thief raccoon or the Cotton-Candy Witch. Beat the final boss within 45 seconds to win; if it gets away, the run still counts as survived. If Mocha's health runs out first, the run ends there.
- How is the score counted, and is the daily run fair?
- You get 10 points for every second survived, 2 for every monster popped, 300 for the first boss and 2000 for beating the final boss, plus 20 for each second it had left. The daily run has the same monsters and the same upgrade offers for everyone, and the server replays every run from your moves to check the score.
